The original recipe is from Fix-it and Forget-It Cookbook and was written by Mary Seislstad. I have made slight adjustments for freezing.
Ingredients:
6 boneless, skinless chicken breast halves (original recipe calls for frozen chicken)
2 10 3/4oz. cans cream of chicken soup
4 oz. can sliced mushrooms, or 1/2c. sliced fresh mushrooms
3/4 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
Assembly:
Place chicken in gallon Ziploc bag. Mix remaining ingredients in separate bowl and pour over chicken. Freeze standing up, so it will fit in the crock pot when you are ready to cook.
Serving Day:
Cook from frozen. Remove plastic bag from frozen meal. Place meal in crock pot. Cook on low 10-12 hours. Serve over rice.
Freezer Friendz: I included cooked rice for you. Just add a little water and microwave to reheat.
We really like this meal. The kids ate it without a fuss! Love the fact that you do not have to defrost before cooking!
ReplyDeleteThis was tasty! I made it with rice for Brian and I liked it with mashed potatoes. We really enjoyed this one. So simple to just open the frozen meal and have dinner at 5pm.
ReplyDeleteVery yummy - one kid even asked for 2nds! I didn't have the 10-12 hours to cook it so I did 6 hours on HIGH in the crockpot, and it worked out fine, just FYI. :)
ReplyDeleteOne funny note - that "little" baggie of rice is so deceiving - because once you pour it out of the bag and into a bowl, it multiplies! How in the world does so much rice fit into such a small baggie?!! LOL!
Thanks for a great meal, Jackie!
Micah and I liked this meal. I really liked the easy prep. Our kids are having a hard time with some of the meals lately and this one didn't go over so well with them. Thanks!!
